Design Montréal
Open House

2010 edition

The next edition of the Open House will be held on May 1 and 2, 2010. Visit this page again at the beginning of April to view the full program details and plan your itinerary.

The new visual identity of the Design Montréal Open House was unveiled this past December 17. A design competition was held for the development of the new concept. You can view the results of the competition here >>

Since 2007, the Ville de Montréal has organized the Design Montréal Open House on the first weekend in May. The event is an initiative of the city’s Design Montréal office, produced in collaboration with the professional design community and in partnership with the Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine du Québec under the Agreement on the Cultural Development of Montréal.

During the two-day open house, members of the public are invited to explore design and architecture offices in Montréal that, in the past year (or two years in the case of biennial competitions), have achieved recognition via prizes and competitions in interior design, industrial design, graphic design, architecture, landscape architecture and urban design. Visitors have the opportunity to discover the work that earned the designers these prestigious awards, and to explore prize-winning Montréal projects via tours (e.g., buildings, public squares, parks, streets or interiors) or displays (e.g., furniture or signage). In all cases, the designers are present to comment on their creations and answer visitors’ questions.
